Google Drive integration

In short

Create and read files your app made or the user picked. Connect it on the Integrations page; your app then calls Google Drive through Sapilon without ever holding a Google credential.

Lets your app create files and read the ones it created or that the user picked, and export Google Docs formats.

Sapilon’s connection uses the narrow drive.file scope. Reading arbitrary existing files (drive.readonly) is a restricted Google scope: use Bring your own OAuth app for that.

Connecting

On the Integrations page choose Connect on Google Drive, sign in to Google and allow access. Under Advanced you can use your own Google OAuth app instead of Sapilon’s.

  • Your app can only see files it created or that you picked.

What your app can do

Only these requests are available; anything else is refused.

  • GET|POST /drive/v3/files
  • GET|PATCH /drive/v3/files/*
  • GET /drive/v3/files/*/export
  • POST /upload/drive/v3/files
  • PATCH /upload/drive/v3/files/*

How the agent uses it

Use integrations.request('google-drive', …); paths start with /drive/v3 (metadata) or /upload/drive/v3 (content), relative to https://www.googleapis.com.

  • GET /drive/v3/files — list files the app can see (only those it created or the user picked). Example: { method: 'GET', path: '/drive/v3/files', query: { q: "name contains 'invoice'" } }.
  • POST /drive/v3/files — create a file or folder (metadata only). Example: { method: 'POST', path: '/drive/v3/files', body: { name: 'Reports', mimeType: 'application/vnd.google-apps.folder' } }.
  • GET|PATCH /drive/v3/files/{id} — read metadata, or with query: { alt: 'media' } download content; PATCH renames or moves. Example: { method: 'GET', path: '/drive/v3/files/1AbC', query: { alt: 'media' } }.
  • GET /drive/v3/files/{id}/export — export a Google Doc/Sheet. Example: { method: 'GET', path: '/drive/v3/files/1AbC/export', query: { mimeType: 'application/pdf' } }.
  • POST /upload/drive/v3/files and PATCH /upload/drive/v3/files/{id} — upload content with query: { uploadType: 'media' }.

Files the app did not create are invisible unless the user picked them.
