Bitly integration

In short

Shorten links and read their click counts. Connect it on the Integrations page; your app then calls Bitly through Sapilon without ever holding a Bitly credential.

Lets your app create short links, update their titles and tags, and read how often they were clicked.

Connecting

On the Integrations page choose Connect on Bitly and fill in:

  • Access token — Bitly → Settings → Developer settings → API → Generate token.

Sapilon checks the key with the provider before it saves it, and stores it encrypted; it is never shown again.

What your app can do

Only these requests are available; anything else is refused.

  • GET /user
  • GET /groups
  • POST /shorten
  • POST /bitlinks
  • GET|PATCH /bitlinks/**

How the agent uses it

Use integrations.request('bitly', …); paths are relative to https://api-ssl.bitly.com/v4.

  • POST /shorten — Example: { method: 'POST', path: '/shorten', body: { long_url: 'https://acme.com/offer?utm_source=app' } } → link, id (bit.ly/abc).
  • POST /bitlinks — with a title and tags: body: { long_url, title, tags: ['app'] }.
  • GET|PATCH /bitlinks/{id} — the id keeps its slash: /bitlinks/bit.ly/abc. GET /bitlinks/bit.ly/abc/clicks/summary — query: { unit: 'day', units: '30' }.
  • GET /user, GET /groups.

Deleting is not allowed.
